On April 22, the Central Avenue Business Improvement District was awarded a $3,000 grant from The Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau Fund of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region for its Drawing Up Central, a sidewalk chalk art contest. This contest, which is part of Tulip Fest, is a joint initiative of CBID, Equinox Inc. and the City of Albany.

Michele Vennard president of the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau presents the awards at the April 22 press conference. Awardees included the Park Playhouse, Albany Rowing Center, Carey Conference Center, and the Albany Institute of History and Art.

The grant will go a long way toward securing marketing, advertising, and helping raise awareness about this first-year event.
