With so many amazing scarecrows to choose from, it was no doubt difficult for voters to choose their favorite in the second annual Scarecrows on the Avenue contest. However, the votes have been tallied, and the first prize ($500) goes to the Boy Scouts Twin Rivers Council for their campsite scene. Second prize ($300) was awarded to Just Hair, for a whimsical autumnal scene, which was displayed in front of Steve Duprey's salon, and third prize ($100) went to Rocks for their rocking bartender scarecrow. Honorable mention had to go to Lexington Vacuum, who returned to the contest this year with another creative entry, Darth Vacuum, constructed with vacuum cleaner equipment.
Thanks to all of the participants: Boy Scouts Twin Rivers Council, Just Hair, Rocks, Lexington Vacuum, Equinox, American Cancer Services, Orlo School of Hair Design and Cosmetology, and Mildred Elley's Austin School of Spa Technology.
Please return next year for more fall fun!
