WAMC's engaging "Food for Thought" film series continues to bring thought-provoking documentaries to the uptown community, not to mention good food--and the series' growing audiences prove it's a winning combination.
Every month, WAMC and Honest Weight Food Co-Op partner up to present a documentary at the screen of The Linda, WAMC's Performing Arts Studio. After the film, tasty food is dished up alongside lively discussion. Often, a panel of experts is invited in to help inform the discussion. The conversations are always spirited, and sometimes, boisterous.
Honest Weight provides a dizzying array of food, including vegetarian and vegan treats--and as a reminder, the co-op now offers a complete catering menu.
Next month, the series will show If a Tree Falls, a film that covers the rise and fall of one of the largest cells of the Earth Liberation Front, a group charged with destroying dozens of businesses they believed responsible for wrecking the environment.
If a Tree Falls will be shown at 7pm on Thursday, September 15 at the Linda, located at 339 Central Avenue, on the corner of Quail and Central Avenue, in Albany. For more information, contact the Linda at 465-5233, extension 4 or visit their website at www.wamcarts.org
