On Saturday May 14th the city of Albany will lead a two day interactive neighborhood summit that will focus on revitalizing the West Hill and West End neighborhoods. The events will consist of a kick off neighborhood wide “Party in the Park” at Swinburne” Park, Friday may 13th at 5:00pm. The events will also include neighborhood tours, community work & visioning sessions and information from educational institutions as well as community service providers. The community is invited to come and view ides for supporting a local business community, making homes affordable and higher quality, growing transportation connections, creating active public spaces, and linking residents with job opportunities and training.
This kick off event promises to be very fun with games, music, and food, but it could be even better with the participation of local businesses. Anyone who would like to set up a promotional booth at NO COST would be asked to bring a table, a chair to sit in, and your promotional information to pass out about your business. Set up begins at around 4 o’clock that afternoon. We hope you’ll think about setting up a table! Restaurants are encouraged to provide menus, coupons, and maybe an invite to stop into your shop that evening for a special after party meal. If you would like more ideas, or want further information, call the CBID office at 518-462-4300.
