A little change changes everything. Your bottle deposit could help fund music programs for Albany's children, says Ruth Pelham, music instructor for the Music Mobile, a mobile music program that teaches music to Albany's youth. The bottle drive is a fundraiser to help support the Music Mobile, now in its 33rd year. The program brings "love and learning" to children across the city through a variety of venues, including libraries, daycares, community centers, parks and playgrounds and festivals, Pelham says.
The idea came "from my mind," says Pelham, who is always wracking her brain for new sources of support.
Containers for bottles have been placed at locations throughout the city including the Spectrum Theater and WAMC. All proceeds are donated to Music Mobile. To make a donation, or to request a container for your business, contact Ruth Pelham at 462-8714. For more information on how you can get involved, visit the website: www.musicmobile.org.
