Give and Take Sale
By Molly Belmont

The Distillery Church held its first annual Give and Take Sale this Memorial Day from 1-4pm. The sale was an opportunity to trade things you don't really want for things you need, and help your neighbor at the same time. Participants will received a ticket for each item they bring, and can use these tickets to "purchase" other people's goods, so no cash is involved.

"This event is about giving free stuff to your neighbors and getting free stuff from them," says John Martinez, pastor for The Distillery. "It's about turning your trash into someone else's treasure."

Items included clothing, electronic devices, household goods, music, tools, books, and "all kinds of other stuff," says John Martinez, pastor of the Distillery. Any leftover items would be taken home or donated to the Goodwill. The church will also hold a raffle.

The sale took place on May 30 at the church. The Distillery is located at 67 Watervliet Avenue in Albany. For more information, call the church at 772-5706.
